Assessments

Uniquely U clinicians start the assessment by getting to know you and your child through both formal and informal interviews. We listen to parents/caregivers to learn what skills are most important for the client (we serve all ages) to increase their success in the home, community, and school. In addition to skill acquisition, we also assess and plan for treatment of challenging behaviors by determining the function of the behavior that interfere with an individuals ability to participate in daily activities in the home, school, and community. As part of the assessment process, we also conduct a records review on any prior assessments, medical documentation or IEPs that you have from other providers or your child's school. The results of the assessment, interview, and records review assist the clinician in developing a unique and individualized treatment plan to address both skill acquisition and challenging behaviors.
